Within the "Europe" series a long-term project co-ordinated by the Council of Europe - the theme of "Peace and Freedom" is that declared for the year 1995. The inspiration for the Slovak issue are the postulates of the Great Anti-fascist Coalition to which Slovakia acceded through the Slovak National Uprising - namely, the defeat of fascism, the liberation of those under its heel and peace throughout the world. |
