Originally the College of Transport and Communications, Žilina University has four decades been training specialists in the field of postal communications. At present it delivers an attractive range of courses in transport, post a and telecommunications, forensic engineering, management, information systems, engineering, construction, electrical engineering, religious education and pedagogy.
The aim of the "Postal and Telecommunications Operations" discipline is to train graduates primarily for the running and financial management of post and telecommunications services and of financial services providers. A range of options complements obligatory core subjects and so provides a flexible response to career choices.
The University awards the degrees of Bc., Ing. and PhDr, study for the latter two being provided on both a standard and distance-learning basis. The University also provides a broad range of short courses, in some cases by distance learning.
