For issue "Christmas '99" were used children's creative works, which participated in a competition of postage stamp work. This competition was organized by the Slovak Post in 1997 in cooperation with "Union of the Slovak Philatelists" and with schools and libraries. At this competition participated children of primary and maternal schools and also artistic schools.
Plantifully represented was a group of children's works, which had participated in the competition of creative proposal for postage stamp, which is organized every year by the "Union of the Slovak Philatelists" in Detva. Realizate commission of the stamp work made a selection of assambled works. It propounded to use children works (for their specific attraction and beauty) also for this year's Christmas stamp.
On the stamp, there is Stanislav Sekereš's (Primary Artistic school in Detva student, in 1997, successful participant of the "Detva" inspection) reproduction of the pastel. On the FDC, there is a graphic reproduction - dry needle by Lenka Jaššová from Žilina. The viewport from an aquarelle by Jana Paškuliaková from Liptovský Mikuláš was applied on postmark.
