History is said not to repeat twice. This rule doesn't apply in the case of organizing the dog-teams racing in a mountain municipality Donovaly. The European championship takes place in this area after six years again. In the meantime, the sled dog race became the most attractive winter sport, and it's events are visited by thousands of spectators, mostly children. However, not to forget to mention one hundred mushers - competitors organized in 17 clubs in Slovakia, who achieved many significant sports esteems in a short period of time and were placed among the most successful sportsmen of the year. The Organizing Committee of the 8th European sled dog race championship FISTC hopes that this year's championship will turn out well to general satisfaction of participants, spectators and sponsors and so will contribute to the 300th anniversary of uniting of the seven coal municipalities into one administrative unit - Donovaly.
