Wine is an inseparable part of cultural life in Slovakia today, as indeed it was also in the past. Wine accompanies us throughout our lives. We are welcomed into the world with a glass of wine, we drink a toast to a marriage or to celebrate the New Year and we drink wine at meetings and partings. Poets write poems about wine, painters paint still lives of grapes and wine, no social event is without wine. The culture of wine has much deeper roots than many can imagine. Wine is a special drink and even with a low alcohol content, latest research shows that moderate use can strengthen a man's health.
The participants at the 27th World Congress of Vine and Wine in Bratislava will certainly have a toast with Slovak wine.
