The "Nature Conservation" series this year features three stamps depicting birds of prey. The rock eagle, peregrine falcon and eagle owl are among Slovakia´s protected species.
The peregrine falcon is one of the most endangered of Slovakia´s bird of prey. Today most of its nesting areas are abandoned and there are probably no more than three to five pairs nesting throughout the whole country.
