Ms. Denisa Žiláková studied Law and Management at the Comenius University in Bratislava. She also successfully accomplished her studies of the management of European funds at the European Academy for Taxation, Economics and Law in Berlin and European law at the King's College in London. She completed her education at École de Langue – Accord in Paris and received her MBA degree at Cambridge Business School in Prague.

State Secretary has extensive experience in the field of European legislation and EU funds. From 2001, she worked for the European Commission as an adviser for justice, internal relations and pre-accession funds until she joined the Ministry of Transport, Posts and Telecommunications of the Slovak Republic in 2005.

In 2005 - 2007, she worked as the Director General at the Ministry of Transport, Posts and Telecommunications of the Slovak Republic, later, until 2012, she worked as the Department Director at the Ministry of Finance.

Between 2012-2016 she held several key positions in the management of EU funds as the Director General of the Section of Operational Program Transport at the Ministry of Transport and from 2016 as the Director General of the Central Coordination Body at the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister of the Slovak Republic for Investments and Informatization (later at the Ministry of Investments, Regional Development and Informatization of the Slovak Republic).

Prior to her appointment as the State Secretary at the Ministry of Transport of the Slovak Republic she worked at the Ministry of Interior of the Slovak Republic as an adviser for EU funds
